Our Vision for 2030

The effects of climate change are having a large impact on agricultural regions across the globe.

The immanent displacement of people from low lying areas in Asia and the Pacific; the ensuing loss of agricultural land through climate change and sea-level rising; the global food shortage; political instability; and the economic uncertainties; all lend themselves to the stable and prosperous countries playing their part in feeding the ever-expanding population of the world.

This needs to be done in an environmentally sustainable manner so that there is still some world worth having, and a resulting lifestyle that includes a healthy environment for all.

Australia needs to maximize its opportunities and contribution by using smart agricultural practices that can work with the environment, to take advantage of those areas identified as suited to agricultural development, especially in the North.
