The NT Agricultural Association is a small but vibrant farmer based organisation
dedicated to fostering sustainable agricultural development and to assisting
producers in the Top End of the NT.
This is achieved in three principal ways:
- Providing technical advice and information to producers and the wider industry
- Working with industry on key production issues and conducting project based development and extension programs to address these
- Lobbying and advising Government on policies and strategies that will affect and support primary industries in the NT
The Association is run by a committee of farmers and currently has three project officers, an office manager and part time finance manager. Our administration office is in Katherine at the Grain Depot where our office manager and a project officer reside. Two project officers and our finance manager are based in Darwin.
The Association is supported by the Northern Territory Government through an Industry Assistance Grant. Income is also generated from leasing facilities at the grain depot in Katherine, which assists in funding our activities.
